Google Play launches huge sale to celebrate 25 billion downloads


If you are new to Android, you might want to take advantage of the upcoming sale on the Google Play store. It was just announced that Google Play now offers 675,000 apps that have been downloaded a total of 25 billion times, and they are celebrating the milestone with a huge promotion.

For the next five days you will be able to grab some of the best paid Android apps for only 25 cents. We don’t have a full list of the apps yet, but Google says it will include a selection fromĀ top developers including Gameloft, Electronic Arts, Rovio, runtastic, Full Fat and more. They will also be offering some special collections likeĀ 25 movies you must own, 25 banned books, 25 albums that changed the world and our 25 top selling magazines, all at special prices.

As of this posting we still haven’t spotted any sale items, but Google says it should go live later today.

Update: The full list of apps on sale is now on available for Day 1 and Day 2.
