We’ve managed to get our hands on some new details regarding the Verizon-bound 5-inch HTC phone. According to our source, the device will most likely feature DROID branding and is currently known as the HTC DIx (HTC DROID Incredible X). The external hardware of the DIx matches up with the mysterious black HTC device that we confirmed to have a 5-inch display. The source claims the HTC DIx features a secondary LED notification light.
Powering the HTC DIx is a quad-core Snapdragon S4 chip paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The battery capacity is still unknown, but the source was able to confirm that the 1080p 5-inch display features a mind-bending pixel density of 480ppi. Features not present on the HTC DIx include expandable memory, removable battery and active pen support.
Some of the new details revealed don’t line up perfectly with what we’ve seen in the past. Originally, benchmark scores revealed that the HTC 6435LVW was powered by a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 processor while the 5-inch 1794 x 1080 display featured a much lower 418ppi.
We’re hoping any spec confusion will be put to rest at HTC’s upcoming press event next week.
