HTC One X+ now available in the UK – U.S. pre-orders listed at $699

With all the LG Nexus stories bombarding us from every direction is easy to forget there are other new phones to talk about. The recently unveiled HTC One X+ is now available from Expansys UK for £494.99 while Expansys USA is currently taking pre-orders for $699.99. The website does not give any indication as to when the HTC One X+ will be shipping to U.S. customers, but you can always order it from their UK site and simply pay a little extra for shipping if you simply can’t wait.

So what makes the HTC One X+ different than the current HTC One X? The new device features a beefier 1.7 GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3+ processor, LTE, a larger 2,100 mAh battery, 64GB of internal storage and a built-in amplifier which enhances the audio quality of the speaker on the back of the device. The HTC One X+ also ships with Android 4.1 with the latest HTC Sense 4+.

Is the HTC One X+ an LG Nexus killer? Probably not, but if we were judging the phones purely on looks, the HTC One X+ would probably take home the crown.

I don’t mean to be a n00b but this will work on the T-Mobile HSPA+ network, right? It has the 2100 radio frequency so it should right? Dang, I hate all this technical jargon. Thanks!

  T-Mobile USA uses 1700/2100 bands for 4G HSPA+. They have also started to offer HSPA+ on the 1900 MHz band in select cities and it will be in the top 50 markets by the end of the year, which means they will support most global phones and AT&T phones.

Even with 64GB of storage, the price is a bit high for my taste. If the LG Nexus is going to debut for $399, HTC is going to have a very tough time selling this phone.

  Keep in mind the unlocked iPhone 5 with 64GB storage is $899. I guess the price of the HTC is not so bad when you compare them.

    Pretty sure that $200 price drop across the board for the iPhone 5 is simply the termination of an “early adopter tax”.

Why, why aren’t you coming to t-mobile :-( (don’t answer that cuz I already know) I was so looking forward to seeing this phone. Oo well I was going to go for the nexus anyways.

This phone looks really nice. Sense 4+ appears to be more toned down than Sense 4, which is a huge plus.

I’m curious if they got rid of the terrible looking “Recent Applications” screen with the Palm Pixi style cards, yuck. I also wish it was possible to revert the menus back to the stock look-and-feel, as I don’t like the white background w/ black text.

  I was always a fan of Sense when manufacturers UI’s were compared, although my preference on the whole, has been Vanilla Android. But sense I found to posses some useful widget and features especial the word wrap when zooming in on a web page.
  
  BUT
  
  Since the introduction of ICS and now Jelly bean, I personally find Sense a blot on an already beautiful landscape, that is halo. These are just my opinions, but may also be reflected in the sales figures or divide among us her on AAM and across the Android Forum community.
  
  Hopefully Sense 4.0 moves closer to the Vanilla experience and please HTC revert back to the ICS introduced recent apps format, I do not like the Sense version at all.

    Yes, I agree completely. I was getting really excited when the rumors were coming about last week on the Customization Center in the Play store. Some of the manufacturer UI tweaks are nice, but I hate when they completely supplant all of the core Android look-and-feel. If I could turn everything off and bring it back to a stock look I would be happy, and I bet I would keep on some of the features. I hate being forced into a bloated experience that is different just for the sake of being different (and with carrier bloatware that can’t be removed… but that’s a different battle).

Here in the UK, we have been told that the HTC One x+ will not be 4G it will only be a 3G phone. The network in the Uk is EE or T-mobile. they work on 1800mhz so I don’t understand the issue. Hoping that I can get one from overseas to work on the EE network here in the UK

Hope these 500+ prices come down when the nexus devices launch later this year. With the kind of ramp-up in mobile technology, personally it doesn’t make sense to spend more than 500 bucks on either a smartphone or a tablet.

My question is, If I buy the Htc One X+ from the Uk and use it in the United States will I get 4g Network If I subscribe to T-Mobile?
