LG Optimus G confirmed for AT&T and Sprint

Today LG announced that their flagship Android smartphone, the Optimus G, was coming to AT&T and Sprint. No pricing or availability was revealed, but we expect those details should be coming from the carriers soon. We expect the LG Optimus G to be the fastest Android phone available this year, as it features Qualcomm’s new 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip.

Again, the more carriers the better, two is not enough for a flagship of this caliber. I assume there will be more announcement but until then this is a start.

I don’t like the design either. Could have been more creative. I don’t really like the native skin either but there are features I like bout that was shown off in a video.

You can say that again. Only reason I’m keeping my evo3d is because no one wants to buy it from me so I will just keep it as an android gaming phone for my daughter and as a 3d camera which I have been using a lot lately.

Awesome, but where is t-mobile at? They lost the htc one x+ which I’m still annoyed from that. If they got this one, this will make up for it quite nicely.

I’ve been asking that same question a lot lately. Maybe T-Mobile has a separate announcement event with LG or perhaps, they’ve been too busy with the merger to focus on the LG Optimus G.

Ya, there is really no excuse for a phone to not have JB pre-installed seeing that it came out 3.5 months ago! Google has to really knuckle down on these manufacturers to get them to release new hardware with the latest OS versions in a timely manner.

I like this better than the samSLUM galaxy sIII.

Looks very promising but will wait to see if it has a microSD card slot and what the price is.

Why does it seem like at&t gets EVERY phone that comes out they get the best of android the best of windows phone the best of apple why does everybody who releases a product only wanna choose at&t??? This is sent from a very frustrated t-mobile customer

it will be ok. Tmobile will soon have more coverage and will be a forced to be reckoned with. I would stick by them if you can. I myself have sprint and will wait to see how this lte and upgraded 3g rollout will be. If it looks like sprint doesn’t cut it I will most likely switch to tmobile. It will be an interesting couple of months.

If I weren’t dead set on going prepaid, and of the belief that the Optimus G will the basis for the Nexus, this might be enough to convince me to stick with AT&T. As it is though, I’m swearing off carrier hobbled devices and cutting the cord completely. Doesn’t hurt that I’ll be saving money on top of it.

I read at&t’s version has an 8 mp camera. By doing that it eliminates a bigger picture message being send. They (they as in at&t) sucks serious ass!!

I undesrstand the specs on this phone are amazing but I love the features on the gs3 and the upcoming note 2. Question is, will the lg phone have features like this or will I just have to stick to sammy for those features?
