Sony has asked retailers to halt sales of the Xperia Tablet S due to a manufacturing defect which compromises the tablet’s resistance to liquids. According to Sony’s press release, the device’s “splash-proof” performance has been compromised by a manufacturing defect which created a gap in the rear display panel. For now, Sony is not issuing an official recall of the tablets which have already been sold. Instead, they are offering an inspection and free repair to consumers if their tablet does incur water damage. Until this matter is resolved, we suggest you refrain from using your Xperai Tablet S while in the pool or standing in the rain.
Out of curiosity, have any of you purchased the Sony Xperia Tablet S?
