AT&T’s Galaxy S 4 will go up for preorder on April 16, still no release date in sight

Wondering when you can start the process of getting your hands on a Samsung Galaxy S 4? If you’re an AT&T customer, April 16 is the magical date. AT&T has announced on their consumer blog that their variant of the Galaxy S 4 will be available for preorder next month. Among mentioning that they were first out of the gate with the original Galaxy S, and that they have the best smartphone line-up in the industry, AT&T dropped a $249 on-contract price tag, but failed to mention when the device will actually be released.

At Tuesday’s T-Mobile event, the un-carrier announced that their S 4 variant would be available on May 1. There’s a good chance that’s close to when AT&T’s, along with Sprint and Verizon’s, will be available as well.

With a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display, 13 megapixel camera, and Android 4.2, the Samsung Galaxy S 4 is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated Android handsets of the year. T-Minus one month until it finally drops.

I wonder if this is the 16gb model or 32? Hopefully verizon sticks with $199 but then again with how they were pricing devices at $299 I can see them going $250 for the s4 since samsung probably didn’t let them plaster their logo on the home button like they did with the note 2

I wont be getting it regardless, but they better get it out before I/O if they wanna keep the hype train going. Although, I’m sure it’ll sell like hotcakes any. About 95% of my android using friends have galaxy phones. Unfortunately, it’s the first thing that comes to mind for most casual users.

Hmmf….This thing can’t come soon enough…getting harder to resist upgrade temptation from the Thunderbolt nonsense.

I hope $250 is for the 32GB model because I was expecting to spend $300 for the 32GB version so a $50 savings could be used to buy some accessories.
