Updated: Rumors claim HTC T6 headed to AT&T, HTC Zara headed to Sprint

According to @evleaks, the fabled HTC One Max (aka the HTC T6) will be carried by AT&T here in the US. HTC One Max rumors suggest the device will feature a 5.9-inch 1080p display, 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, Ultrapixel camera and a generous 3,300 mAh battery. We do not know when the handset is expected to show up at AT&T stores, but the device unveiling is expected during the second half of Q3.

The tweet about the HTC T6 was preceded by a tweet that claimed the HTC Zara would make its way to Sprint’s network. Not much is known about the HTC Zara as this point. The name first appeared when China Times reported that the plastic enclosed device would make an appearance around the same time as the HTC T6. No additional details are currently known. While @evleaks shared details regarding US partners for the two devices within a 30 minute time frame, there’s no indication that the two devices are related in any way.

Update: @evleaks has now shared that the HTC Zara will be a “mashup of the One and Desire families.” We’re not exactly sure what that means since the HTC One is HTC’s flagship device and the Desire family has always included mid to low-end devices. The Zara could be the HTC One mini, but it could also be a much cheaper device like the HTC Desire 500 which was unveiled today in Taiwan.

Do you think HTC would release a device as cheap as the Desire 500 under the One name?

So many good phones I cannot get my hands on cause they are carrier exclusives…

There’s no indication that either the T6 of the Zara will be carrier exclusive devices. Carrier availability information is sometimes leaked one carrier at a time since the information often comes from sources that work for said carrier.

I really hope so. If sprint doesn’t get the One Max it might be time for a move.

      • thel0nerang3r

Due to the bands used by Sprint, their phones are exclusive to them.

        • Droid Sam

Ok, technically you are correct. But I don’t think that’s what they are referring to here. An exclusive is typically a device which only launches in a single carrier. Think Evo or Droid phones. The HTC One on sprint is unique to Sprint because of the service providers radio frequencies, but the HTC One is also sold on Att and T-Mobile.

I guess I was splitting hairs. Could be the code name for HTC One Mini?

Is it possible that this phone could be the rebirth of the Evo line? Or have they officially killed that off?

If the One Max/T6 doesnt come to TMobile; I dont know what the hell Im gonna upgrade to… I’ll probably look at the Nexus 5 and maybe even the Note 3… Worse case scenario, I’ll ditch this HTC Sensation and get the HTC One… but I really want the T6!

You can always buy the AT&T model, unlock it and use it on T-Mobile. That’s essentially what I’m doing with the HTC One developer edition.

HTC is a piece of shit company i hope they disappear soon Carrier exclusive is bad for consumers

And HTC and Motorola(droid) wonders why Samsung is #1 Android phone maker… U make an almost perfect phone and u limit it to only one carrier…how stupid is that….its common sense…more carriers, the more people can buy the phone, the more money HTC or Motorola makes…but hey its up them..!

The article is not claiming that the Max will be an AT&T exclusive, just that evleaks has found info about it for AT&T. It would not make sense for HTC to not make it available for the same carriers as the One. I expect to also see it for T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon here in the U.S.
