The HTC One X in Europe has already been updated to Android 4.2.2, but Vodafone Australia has revealed that another update is in the works. This update would give the phone the same Sense 5.5 features that will hit the HTC One when it is updated to Android 4.3 later this month.

The information was revealed on Vodafone’s weekly software update blog post. No details regarding features or timing were revealed, just a simple statement that the Android 4.2.2 update with Sense 5.5 is currently being prepped by HTC. While we would like to see Android 4.3 or even 4.4 on the HTC One X, we knew the phone would eventually be destined to live out its remaining days on an older version of Android.

Update: we have received word from HTC that the information on Vodafone’s site is not correct. No official statement on the matter was released, but it looks like someone at Vodafone mistakenly types 5.5 instead of 5.0.
