Google’s Auto Awesome will soon edit Google+ videos automatically

Back at Google I/O 2013, Google announced plenty of improvements to their not-so-popular social network, Google+. Those improvements were quite large, and a crowd favorite seemed to be Auto Awesome. This feature would automatically edit photos you uploaded to Google+, if you allow it. It can do anything from add artificial HDR and fix up photos to create animated photos from burst shots.

Google is now taking the next logical step and extending Auto Awesome to videos. Very similar to HTC Zoe, Auto Awesome will automatically edit uploaded video (mixed with different types of media) with music, effects and transitions. You don’t even have to lift a finger; Auto Awesome will do all the thinking. While it’s hard to imagine an auto editor working well, HTC Zoe turned out pretty cool.

We can’t wait to try out Auto Awesome on videos. There is no release date, but we’re hoping it’s coming soon. It’s just more reason to use Google+, if you didn’t have enough reasons already. Are you interested in such a feature? Leave a comment!

I love the Zoe feature on my phone and use it for basically every family outing. The additional video styles in 4.3 and the ability to add your own music is just what the doctor ordered. I’m excited to see G+ take a crack at something similar.

They should first try to populate the graveyard before decorating it.

Finally, someone brave enough to imply that G+ is an empty vessel. So brave. So. Brave.

That’s heresy on blogs like this one where people blindly praise everything Google and Android & like to name call anyone who voices an opposing opinion or God forbid has a positive iPhone experience

Thats pretty awesome. My wife has a One and thats one feature I am jealous of with my Nexus 4. That and how her pictures are micro movies. Thats is probably my favorite feature I’m missing out on.

Uhm. HTC Zoe is the 5-second video clips they want you to use instead of taking still photos. Google’s Auto Awesome actually appears to be the equivalent of HTC’s Video Highlights. #corrections
