HBO Go apps on Android, iOS and the web gain Chromecast support

Google Chromecast

Have a Chromecast plugged into the back of your TV? Then prepare to do a little happy dance, because that little dongle just got a bit more useful. Google announced today that the HBO Go apps on Android, iOS and the web now feature Chromecast support. In order to start casting your favorite episode of Girls to your TV, you just need to snag the newest HBO Go app for Android or iOS or hit up the HBO Go website using the Chrome browser or a Chromebook.

While some found the Chromecast’s official streaming support to be a bit lacking at launch, we’ve seen more apps add casting capabilities in the months since the dongle debuted in Google Play. The addition of Chromecast support to the HBO Go apps is a big win for both Google and Chromecast users because it means that another major content provider has decided to embrace the little streaming stick. Here’s to hoping that more follow soon.
