Moto Maker finally offering wood, bamboo back for an extra $100

Moto X Bamboo

The day many of us have been waiting for has come. Motorola is now offering a wooden back for the Moto X smartphone through Moto Maker! At the moment, the only wood available is bamboo and it will set you back an extra $100 plus delayed 14 day shipping, but damn does it look good.

Seeing as Motorola has released one type of wood, and says there will be many more, it’s only a matter of time until we get more styles available to us. And if they offer something a little unique, like gray wood, I’d be over the moon.

If you want to buy a bamboo backed Moto X, head over to Moto Maker in the source link to build yours now! The wooden back comes with white trim around it, so a white face would probably be most appropriate. Tell us what color combo you got in the comments!

I don’t have a Moto x but that looks sexy. $100 is too steep especially after the wait.

Couldn’t wait any longer for the other woods so I got the bamboo with a white face and silver accent. The process went incredibly smoothly actually. Coming from an app designer, I felt like it was a very impressive web app. Everything went smooth – even required a background check, which I dreaded would be plagued with integrity and accuracy issues, but everything went through just fine. It does suck that I won’t get it until the sixth of January.

Hopefully it catches on and they will reduce the price of just plain black and white to their cyber deal @ $350. Missed that deal. Great value @ $350 not so much @ $500

    Bling bling.

$100 for inexpensive bamboo is a terrible price. Wood should be 10 or 15 more MAYBE.
