Motorola sheds light on the details of its new Moto X holiday promotion

Motorola Moto X

Yesterday was supposed to be the day that a select number of lucky consumers were treated to a discounted Moto X, but after a rush of bargain-hungry consumers overwhelmed the Moto Maker website, many folks ended the day with disappointment instead of a new phone. The good news is that Motorola has decided to give its sale two more tries, and tonight the company laid out exactly how things are going to go down on Wednesday and Monday.

Motorola says that at 12:00 p.m. EST on both Wednesday, Dec. 4., and Monday, Dec. 9, anyone that’d like a discounted Moto X will need to navigate to There they’ll be able to register one email address and receive one promo code good for $150 off of a no contract Moto Maker-ized Moto X. That code will be good for one week, giving consumers plenty of time to design their perfect Moto X. Once they’ve got the design perfect, users can simply hit up the Moto Maker site, create their phone and enter the code to receive their discounted handset.

In addition to the $150 Moto X discount, Motorola will also be offering a 30 percent discount on select accessories with the promo code “THANKS.” The items that’ll be eligible for that offer include select cases, headphones and “wireless products.”

As with the original Cyber Monday sale, Motorola will only have a limited number of Moto Xs available for this promotion. The good news is that Moto says that it’s increased the number of devices that will be available for purchase, so here’s to hoping that the combination of a larger stockpile of product and this revised promo plan means that everyone that wants a discounted Moto X will be able to get one. Just to be safe, it may not be a bad idea to queue up in a browser tab at 11:59 a.m. EST tomorrow morning.
