One of the many beauties of Android is the ability to customize it. Icon packs can be used to great effect, changing the entire mood of a home screen. While many developers work with icon packs, one of the most well-known names is Kovdev, the development team behind popular icon packs such as Stark and Nox. Tomorrow brings us yet another gem, or rather an entire pack of gems, with the release of Kovdev’s latest icon pack, Lumos.
Lumos is an interesting icon pack that artfully blends several different styles. As a whole, the icon pack has a soft, subtle look. As the banner states, the icons feature both curves and shade in the form of long shadows, reminiscent of Nox. Differing from both Stark and Nox, Lumos icons are rounded, and rather than vivid pops of color, are closer to toned-down pastels. When you combine all this, it produces an ethereal effect that’s very pleasing to the eye.
Following in the footsteps of other Kovdev packs, Lumos comes with eighteen different wallpapers that work with the icons. The selection is nice; all the wallpapers are high enough resolution to look good even on a 7-inch tablet screen. Speaking of which–the icon pack naturally looks good on both phones and tablets, which enables you to have consistency across your devices.
After taking this first look at it, we’re going to give Lumos two thumbs up. It’s a stunning icon pack that helps to bring some finesse to the often gaudy world of icons. If you want to refine your home screen, Lumos will be available for purchase tomorrow, January 24, for $1.99 in the Google Play Store. Trust us, it’s well worth that spare change in your pocket. When you craft your own homescreen using Lumos, drop it down in the comments so that we can all appreciate your skill.
