AT&T HTC One X+ Android 4.2.2 update coming later this week

htc-one-x-table

The HTC One X+ will not be updated to Android 4.3 or above, but that doesn’t mean we’re done talking about the handset quite yet. Apparently, AT&T has wrapped up its technical acceptance testing of the HTC One X+’s Android 4.2.2 update and will push it out to handset owners later this week.

None of the newer Android 4.3 or Android 4.4 features will be included in the update, but AT&T HTC One X+ owners will be treated to a brand new user interface which should make the phone feel like new – at least for a few weeks. The HTC One X+ Android 4.2.2 update will include HTC Sense 5 and all the standard features like BlinkFeed, Video Highlights, a new camera interface and updated people, gallery, music and calendar apps. The feature from the HTC One series which will most likely not be included is HTC Zoe which captures video and pictures at the same time.

We’ll let you know once HTC and AT&T release an official change log or start pushing the update out to the HTC One X+

It seems like the most important part of the 4.3 update was the added TRIM support. I don’t understand why manufacturers who have decided not to offer the latest OS version don’t, at the very least, give all their customers an app that would at least schedule TRIM runs on their phones… this is the only thing that can help out sluggish phones… unless that’s the whole idea… give the customer an incentive to upgrade/buy a newer phone because of phone lag.

According to HTC, the HTC One X update is currently being evaluated by AT&T. If no issues are identified, it could be one or two weeks out.

I’ll believe when I get it. they’ve been saying this for 8 months now, so I’m not holding my breath. If I don’t get I’ll never buy and HTC product again.

HTC rolled out the update for international version months ago. It’s actually at&t’s fault that US users had to wait this long for an simple update.
