Moto X sale extended, $70 off until February 22

Motorola has offered so many Moto X discounts that the device seems to be under a perpetual sale, and with each new promotion, the drop in price gets larger. The Moto X debuted at over $550 off contract, but now many of us are getting it for as little as $300. The recent Valentine’s Day sale dropped the price of the 16GB Moto X by $70, leaving it at a total of $330. That offer was originally supposed to end last week, but the generous Motorola has extended the sale for another week, allowing shoppers to save some money on a new Moto X until February 22nd.

The Moto X was widely regarded as a disappointment when it was first released, mostly because us tech nerds didn’t like the specs. Since then, though, the tech industry has slowly changed its mind about the device. As each of us got a Moto X, we fell in love with it and professed that love to our friends. And thus, it spread. I bought a Moto X because everyone around me loved it so much, and I immediately fell in love after receiving it. The Moto X really is an amazing device.

If you’re interested in giving it a shot for yourself, and you definitely should, head over to Moto Maker and build yourself a custom device. Wood backs are only $25 extra, while the bump to 32GB is $50. If you’ve already got a Moto X, give your thoughts on it in the comments!

I’m a die hard Nexus fan, but on Friday instead of a Nexus 5 I bought a white Moto X with a teak back. The specs are a turn off, but I figure at this point in the history of smartphones the specs have caught up to the demand of the OS and aren’t as necessary as they used to be. It was a tough decision, but the wood back and the fact that Moto X is in stock sealed the deal for me. I’m looking forward to getting it in my hands later this week and I’m actually kind of excited about all the stains and nicks that the back will pick up.
