Samsung reveals Gear 2, Gear Fit pricing information

gear2pairaam

When Samsung announced its new Gear 2 and Gear Fit wearables last month, it said that the Tizen-powered wearables would launch in April but declined to reveal the prices for either device, saying instead that that information would be revealed at a later date. Now that we’re starting to close in on April, the pricing details for both of those Gears have begun to trickle out.

Samsung Taiwan today announced that the Gear 2 will be priced at NT$8,990 ($293 USD) when it launches there next month. Meanwhile, the more fitness-focused Gear Fit will carry a price tag of NT$5,990 ($195 USD).

While these prices for the Gear 2 and Gear Fit are only official for Taiwan, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the two devices with similar price tags when they arrive in other parts of the globe. The original Galaxy Gear was priced at $299 when it launched last year, and because the Gear 2 is the successor to the OG Gear and the Gear Fit is slightly lower-end, Samsung’s prices for those two new wearables makes sense.

What do you think of Samsung’s prices for the Gear 2 and Gear Fit? Do you plan on picking one up when they arrive in your neck of the woods?

Gear 2 and Gear Fit bitch slaps any silly Android Wear that’s for sure.

Samsung has nothing to worry about they own android in so many aspects it’s comical.

Yes, because you can accurately predict the future.
Oh wait, you’re the guy who “knew” your “legendary” Evo 3D would be “Sprint’s flagship device well into 2012″, despite it having poor sales when you repeatedly made that statement, and then subsequently being pulled from shelves 2 months into the year.
You’re the guy who claimed the Galaxy Nexus would be Verizon’s flagship phone.
You’re the guy who claimed the LG G Flex wouldn’t “make it to the States with those screen specs” (implying the 720p screen) several months before it was made available, and lo and behold, it’s being sold on 3 of the 4 major carriers.
        What a joke

Nope, Samsung leaves Android, I leave Samsung

No intention of picking up any Samsung designed watch, personally do not like the design (that’s my kind description) that along with the fact I don’t have a Samsung phone means (stating the obvious) that it’s not for me or any other non Samsung phone owner.

Just seen the ‘pre release’ for the Motorola 360 which is designed to work with Android phones on 4.3 and above, not only, IMO, a better design, but also something I could use.

I feel Samsung wanted to be first to the Smart Watch market and this along with Tizen, will relegate them further from my own Wish List of devices

Android Wear definitely will be just as useless as that silly Nexus 5.

Google products are so dull and drastically boring it’s pretty comical definitely.

Nothing Google does turns out to be of anything significant. Another battery draining product

Says the guy who has repeatedly claimed he “wouldn’t touch the Nexus 5 with a 10 foot pole”. One question: how do you know it’s “silly” or “battery draining”, if you’ve never been close enough to even see one? What an ignorant hypocrite.
Plain and simple, nothing you say turns out to be of anything significant. Period.
