Samsung Galaxy K extends its optical zoom in newly-leaked photos

Earlier this month, we got our first peek at the Samsung Galaxy K, also known as the Galaxy S5 zoom. And while we’re never ones to turn down an early look at an unannounced smartphone, the image didn’t exactly give us a great view of the device. Thankfully we’re getting a second look at it today, and this time the images are much-improved.

Two new photos of the Galaxy K cameraphone have been posted to Chinese site Baidu. The images show the Galaxy K from the front and from above, and the device’s 10x optical zoom lens is extended in both shots. Unfortunately, neither photo offers a peek at the “phone” side of the Galaxy K.

It’s rumored that the Samsung Galaxy K will come to market with a spec list that includes a 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, hexa-core Exynos 5 5260 processor, 2GB RAM and a 20-megapixel rear camera with 10x optical zoom and Xenon flash. While not totally bleeding edge, those specs are much-improved over the Galaxy S4 zoom. One of the most noticeable changes from the Galaxy S4 zoom to the Galaxy K is the width of the new model, which looks to be considerably slimmer than its predecessor.

Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy K at an event on April 29. Based on what we know of it so far, what do you think of Samsung’s next cameraphone?
