Remember when AT&T announced the ASUS PadFone X way back in early January? Ol’ Blue hasn’t said much about its smartphone-tablet dock combo since then, but today the carrier broke its silence by revealing its pre-order plans for the X.
The PadFone X will be available for pre-order online and in AT&T stores on June 6. Pricing will be set at $199 with a 2-year contract, $22.92 per month with AT&T Next 18 or $29.80 per month with AT&T Next 12. Here’s a quick refresher on what you’ll get for your cash:
- PadFone: 5-inch 1080p display, 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 13-megapixel Pixel Master rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing shooter, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot, Bluetooth 4.0, PMA wireless charging, 2300mAh battery, Android 4.4 KitKat
- PadFone Station: 9-inch 1920×1200 screen, 1-megapixel front-facing camera, 4990mAh battery
AT&T is also planning a promo that’ll run from June 6 through July 24. The deal will include a blue or what ASUS 2-pack tablet cover, Wireless Charging Folio and Duracell Wireless Charging Mat for $80, a savings of $50. Consumers will also be able to purchase a PadFone X Folio Bundle of protective covers and a PadFone X Mobile Dock Bluetooth keyboard with a 450mAh battery.
We’ve seen several different PadFone models launched to date, but so far, none of them have been offered by a U.S. carrier. It’s exciting to see the PadFone X making its way to AT&T because the launch is the first time that U.S. consumers an easy way to pick up a PadFone.
