HTC M8 Prime, M8 Ace image leaks show backsides of unannounced phones

Interested in seeing what the HTC M8 Prime looks like after yesterday’s spec leak? I don’t blame you. Thankfully, a newly-leaked image has surfaced today to satiate our appetite for high-end HTC hardware. An image shared by @evleaks claims to show the rear camera setup of the HTC M8 Prime. The device appears to have a Duo Camera setup that’s similar to the HTC One (M8), complete with a dual LED flash and secondary depth camera. However, the main shooter of the HTC M8 Prime appears to jut out of the phone’s body, which isn’t the case on the One (M8). That’s not the only leaky HTC goodness that I’ve got for you today. A render that purportedly shows the rear of the HTC M8 Ace has made its way online as well. The image was originally posted by Chinese blog ifanr and confirmed to be the real deal by Engadget. htcm8aceleak The rumor mill suggests that the HTC M8 Ace will pack specs similar to those found in the flagship One (M8), including a 5-inch 1080p display and 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor. There are two big differences between the One (M8) and M8 Ace that are worth taking note of: First up, the M8 Ace is expected to be made of plastic, not aluminum like the One (M8). Second is the M8 Ace’s rear camera, which appears to be a regular shooter and not the fancy Duo Camera found on the One (M8). Based on what’s been rumored about the M8 Prime and M8 Ace so far, do either of these upcoming HTC handsets appeal to you? Or are you interested in the flagship HTC One (M8)?

UPDATE: @evleaks has shared another HTC M8 Prime leak. This time we’re being treated to a full 360 degree render of the device that makes it look a bit like a mashup of the HTC One (M8) and HTC EVO 4G LTE.

There is a full render of the backside of the Prime version. Probably gonna update it huh? It’s a dud to me if the camera is poor.

No need to get so down, brah. Time will tell all eventually.

The rumor is that the prime’s camera is a duo 18 ultrapixel so that should be an improvement. I just hope the quality is improved as well and OIS is added.

Looks really nice. Now to see what specs and the camera are like.

You can’t have ultra-pixels and megapixels in the same device. Unless you have two imagine sensors. Which is what I initially thought about the m8. An 18 megapixels ultra-pixels array would be huge, DSLRs huge! I would be extremely happy with a 5 megapixels ultra-pixels. Ecstatic if it is 8 megapixel ultra-pixels camera!

The M8 Prime sounds the most appealing and it would be even great with a better camera. Design wise, I prefer the M8 but this is nice too and they finally have gotten it right with the placement of the power button

I like the design of the M8 Ace. No camera nipple on that one and it appears to be sleeker than the M8 Prime. HTC still hasn’t found the right front speaker grill design IMO.

I really hate onscreen buttons, but I feel like I may be more put off with Samsung’s idiotic bottom and rear speaker placement. I would need to see at least 6 ultra pixels with 8 being a fantastic improvement.if the battery life is again stellar on this new phone, it has ois&I get the nice ultra pixel bump there’s a decent chance I may buy it and retire my note 3. If I get those things and there is a capacitive button option, then the note 3 is history for sure.
