We’re thoroughly expecting tomorrow’s Google I/O opening keynote to be packed to the brim with major announcements. According to Bloomberg Businessweek and an interview with Android lead Sundar Pichai, one of those major announcements will in fact be the unveiling of the next version of Android.

For months now we’ve seen rumor after rumor saying that Google is working on something big for the next release of Android. Tomorrow, we may just finally get our first real look at exactly what all those rumors mean. In an interview with Bloomberg Businessweek, Sundar Pichai has revealed that Google wants, “the world to understand what we are doing sooner.” An early Android preview would give not just consumers, but manufacturers a closer look at the next version of Android before releasing it to the world this fall. Exactly what this means for manufacturers developing updates, the Nexus program or Android Silver we don’t know yet, but we’re sure to find out more tomorrow.

As for what else we expect to see from Google tomorrow, everything from Android Wear to Android TV is a possibility. Keep it locked to Android and Me as we work to cover Google I/O over the coming week. It’s going to get crazy.
