HTC One (E8) now official, plastic brother to the One (M8)

2 months ago 3

Metal isn’t for everyone and HTC recognizes that. The new HTC One (E8) is the plastic sibling to the all-metal HTC One (M8). For the most part, the One (E8) features the same specs as the One (M8), but it adds a plastic design that will come in black, white, blue and red. The One (E8) is aimed at growing markets where price is of higher significance, which has results a few changes from the One (M8).

Aside from its plastic back, the One (E8)’s camera has also changed. The UltraPixel camera of the One (M8) has been replaced by a 13-megapixel shooter that’s also present in the One Mini 2. This also means that the One (M8)’s Duo Camera is missing on the One (E8); instead, the One (E8)’s flash has been moved up to take the place of the secondary lens, allowing it to work with HTC’s Dot View case. One other feature that’s missing from the One (E8) is an IR blaster. Besides those minor changes, the One (E8) is identical to the One (M8). Oh, and did we mention that it’s launching in China for $450? That’s almost half the price of the metal One (M8). Quite a steal indeed.

What are your thoughts on the One (E8)?
