Moto G successor leaks out in new image, some specs included

Motorola’s follow-up to the successful Moto G has leaked out in a new photo. The photo (below), from Mallando no Android, shows the front of the device. The front is almost entirely black glass, with front-facing speakers at the top and bottom as well as a front-facing camera resting in the upper right hand corner. Leaks should always be taken with a grain of salt, but this one looks to be legitimate with the standard Motorola warning and logo emblazoned on the front, warning that the device is confidential and is not for sale.

Moto G Successor

Mallando no Android has also shared a few leaked specs from the device. The Moto G’s successor will reportedly include a 720p display, Snapdragon 400 processor, 8-megapixel camera and dual-SIM functionality. As a whole, not much of an upgrade to the Moto G, aside from the camera. The model number of the phone is set to be XT-1068, which follows right in line with the Moto G’s model number of XT-1032. Details still aren’t known about when the device will launch, but perhaps we could see it coming alongside the rumored Moto X+1.

Please have a 32gb version or at least a sd card slot, other wide to small.

720p screen even on a high mid-range phone is very poor motorola.

I disagree. 720p screens are perfectly fine on phones smaller than 5″, ESPECIALLY for mid-range phones. Fewer pixels gives you better performance at lower cost and it’s still incredibly high dpi.

“The Moto G’s successor will reportedly include a 720p display, Snapdraon 400 processor, 8-megapixel camera and dual-SIM functionality. As a whole, a nice upgrade to the now aging Moto G.”

Other than the camera (5mp vs 8mp), aren’t those the identical specs that the Moto G has? I don’t understand how you reached that conclusion of this being a nice upgrade.

I was about to ask the same.

If it’s got 2 gigs of ram and at least 16 GB of storage (SD card option too) then it’d be serviceable at the low end. I’m getting rid of the current MotoG LTE as it’s entirely too slow and hiccupy.

You know, you’re right. Lemme change that.

Doesn’t mention the clock speed of the processor, they could have bumped it up from 1.2GHz to 1.6GHz.

I think its acceptable for a low mid range phone.. But if it doesn’t come with a SD card slot, & latest android version, including previous features ~ I’m not investing my hard earned money..

Moto G 16Gb is best phone for the money I’ve even had. I definitelly interested about this updated model and think it will be the value on marget (again) and will blow away the competition.
