ASUS was named as one of the first partners of Android Wear, yet was not part of the launch. Even Motorola got in on the fun, despite not releasing any hardware until much later. We knew ASUS has something up its sleeve, and today we finally get to see a hint of that in a tweet.
Included with the tweet is a photo of a silhouette of what looks to be a smartwatch. It looks like we’re going to get another one with a square display, so the Moto 360 will still be unique in that regard. Otherwise, there are no details visible that could possibly hint at any specs or special features. Hopefully ASUS will do something to differentiate itself from the rest of the pack.
The smartwatch will be shown off at IFA 2014 so we don’t have long to wait to find out what ASUS has made. With the Android Wear market so young and in need of some support from more manufacturers, it’s great to see ASUS stepping up with its own product. Maybe it’ll even win our hearts from the Moto 360 (though that’s unlikely). Are you looking forward to ASUS’ announcement at IFA?
