Remember when Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen teased that he planned to re-release his addictive mobile game in August? Well he didn’t waste any time, because a new version of Flappy Bird has arrived.
Flappy Birds Family officially launched in the Amazon Appstore today. The game includes new ghost obstacles for players to dodge as well as a Person vs Person mode for two players.
Nguyen describes Flappy Birds Family as “more fun and still very hard.” Given his criticism of the original Flappy Bird and its addictive nature, it’s no surprise that Nguyen also says that you should “not [break] your TV” while flapping at home.
Unfortunately, Flappy Birds Family is only available with the Amazon Fire TV. The game features support for the Fire TV’s game controller as well as the Fire TV remote. There’s no word on when or if Flappy Birds Family will be made available to everyone through the Google Play Store, but if you’re really desperate to give this new Flappy Bird a go, Amazon’s Fire TV is in stock at a price of $99. Just sayin’.
