Moto X+1 appears in official-looking renders

motox1

It’s likely that we’ll see Motorola officially unveil the new Moto X on September 4, but the good news for those of us that can’t wait that long is that the device appears to have just leaked.

Prolific leakster @evleaks has shared some images of a Verizon-branded Moto X+1. The device is shown in black and white, with the latter model sporting what looks to be an aluminum trim and wooden back. The X+1 seems to have the same basic design as the Moto X, but it appears to have adopted the Moto E’s front-facing speaker and also gotten itself a bigger rear camera. The software on this X+1 appears to be mostly stock Android.

While these images are still unofficial, they don’t look too far off from what we’d expect to see out of a Moto X+1. After all, the original Moto X was praised for its look and in-hand feel, so we’re sure that Motorola wouldn’t stray far from that design for the X+1. One complaint that many people did have about the OG X was its camera, and it looks like Motorola may have addressed that with this new unit.

Are you looking forward to the Moto X+1? What features will it need to pack in order for you to consider it a must-buy?

Do you think the date on the phone (September 17) would be the release date?

I WAS looking forward to the Moto X+1 and then I checked to see when I’m eligible for an upgrade and it said Oct….2015!!! LMAO.

I hope it’s smaller than the Nexus 5 because I personally think that’s my limit on phone size. I wanted the OG X but it was already outdated by the time I came to appreciate it.

It will be this or the Sony Z3 Compact depending on what Google releases later this year.

The Sony Z3 compact is an rare device. Most “mini” version are lower spec, Sony seems to be the only ones that make the smaller devices high end. So, going by that, it’s doubtful that the Moto or Next Nexus will be less then 5″ screen.

Says 5.1″ so a bit bigger I think than Nexus 5.

I’ve held Nexus 4, nexus 5 and OPO. I think the Nexus 5 is the maximum a phone should be for those who want a phone to be a phone and not a small tablet which talks.

Didn’t Evan said he would retire?

Ontopic: I also think that the Nexus 5 has the maximum dimension that I would want in smartphone. It all depends on how they can make it look not so big. It’s not that big, but 5 inches is the perfect size for me. 0.1 inches won’t bother me too much.

This time PLEASE release the 32gb version outside America & Release way quicker than 6 months later to UK/Europe.

Shut up and take my money!

SD card and removable battery make it a must buy. Still a most likely buy without those mostly because my Bionic is finally starting to act up.
