Galaxy Note 3 for Sprint receiving update to Android 4.4.4, outlined by Samsung

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Camera

The Galaxy Note 3 for Sprint is now in line to receive the update to Android 4.4.4, according to Samsung, and the manufacturer has updated the Galaxy Note 3 software list to reflect the changes.

The update was supposedly released on September 5, through an over the air (OTA) fashion, and so it should actually be showing up on devices now. With the update, Galaxy Note 3 owners will find a new HD Voice icon in their drawer, support for international Wi-Fi calling, patches to Google Security, Knox 2.0 and updates to Kids Mode.

If you have a Galaxy Note 3 and haven’t received the update, it might be worth checking for. Just head into Settings, then into General and System Update. From there, hit Update and cross your fingers.

I will definitely download and install this update once my Galaxy Note 3 get fully charged on qi wireless charger so that battery status will not affect the up gradation process.

Updated last night and now email doesnt seem to work, and the battery life is horrible. Also the phone itself seems to react slow to commands.

Got the update and s view is not working and same with the battery. Battery is taking 10 times longer to charge. I am seeing a lot of problems on my phone. Can i go back to 4.4.2?

  • chris

Or 4.3 something other than 4.4.4

I received the update on Thursday 9/18 and my battery life has been awful since. Where it used to easily last 1.5 days, the battery will now drain about 70% in three hours even if I don’t use the phone at all. It’s also hot to the touch now.

First thing I noticed after the upgrade is the mail app is either slow to sync or locks up completely.

I have been dropping dozens of calls since the frustrating. Wish I could go back to the previous version.

Don’t download it! It breaks ALL widgets on my Note 3! 1Weather, Battery, stock Music app to name a few. HORRIBLE!

I downloaded the update and now the email app downloads every single email in your email account! Instead of just downloading the new email it downloads them all! OMG! They took the option away that allows you to select how many emails you download. Now I have emails that I keep on my server account for records from years ago downloading on my phone. Email app runs ultra slow now. My battery life blows! Is there anyway that I can go back to the old version. Please help
