Of all the ways to position and sell the Samsung’s just announced Galaxy Tab Active, they’ve certainly picked an interesting one. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Tab Active is the the tablet Fortune 500 companies want, C Pen, shock resistance and all.
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Active is just what you’d expect from the company based on previous Active devices. It’s an 8-inch tablet meant to withstand the elements. It’s heat, cold, dust and water resistant, with a rugged industrial design to match. The display is 1280 x 800, and it comes with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, a 3.1-megapixel camera (that “can easily scan barcodes”), 16GB of expandable storage, 1.5GB of RAM, 2G, 3G, LTE connectivity and a removable 4450mAh battery.
The Galaxy Tab Active won’t be winning any awards for specs or design, but if it’s a tablet that can withstand the elements you’re after, the Galaxy Tab Active is worth a look. No price or release info is available at this time.
