Samsung Galaxy Mega 2

AT&T has announced that it will sell Samsung’s Galaxy Mega 2 beginning on October 24. The Galaxy Mega line was spawned out of a desire for phablet-sized mid-range devices that wouldn’t break the bank. AT&T picked them up in the US and must have found some success, because it’s back for a second round with the Galaxy Mega 2. The star of the show for the Galaxy Mega 2 is its 6-inch 720p display.

Other specs for the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 include a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB storage, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, Android 4.4 KitKat and 2800mAh battery. As you can see, the Galaxy Mega 2 is not a high-end device, but fits rather nicely into the mid-range market. It does exactly what it means to by offering a phablet-sized display at an affordable price.

AT&T will sell the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 for $149.99 with a two-year contract or $474.99 without a contract. If you prefer the AT&T Next route, you can get it for $23.75/month for 20 months. The Galaxy Mega 2 will be available for purchase in stores and online beginning this Friday, October 24.

So I can a note 4 for $199 and two yr contract, or this “midrange” phone for $149 and a two yr contract. What a joke. It would have to go for $49.99 on contract to compete in a side by side with any of the $199 on contract flagships available.

Trust me there are idiots out there who will sadly buy this piece of junk for $149 instead of paying $199 for a real phone. I mean a 2800 mah battery on a 6″ screen??? What does it get like 2 hours of screen on time on one charge?? These are also the same morons that happily pay up the wazoo for their monthly plans every month cuz they got the phone for “almost nothing”. Then of course a few months down the road they’re complaining about the subpar experience they have with their device and proclaim that Android is crap and are going with Apple instead.

Seems like a bad phone if they already start selling it when its fresh off the shelves and on top of that Ellie Miller’s husband is Gracepoint murderer
