China is home to a huge entry-level market and manufacturers like Huawei and Xiaomi are continuing to duke it out to see who can make the best device for the least amount of money. Huawei looks like it will soon pull another punch with the $130 Huawei Honor 4X. The Honor 4X is designed to give huge bang for the buck with a 5.5-inch 720p display, quad-core 1.2GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, Android 4.4.4 KitKat and support for 4G LTE networks in addition to the usual CDMA and GSM support.

Devices like the Huawei Honor 4X are of great interest because they show just how cheap a smartphone can be without sacrificing much in the way of quality. It also serves as an example of how 64-bit processors are being used in the market. While we typically think of 64-bit processors in the high-end performance realm, it’s important to remember that they can be just as beneficial and cost-efficient for the budget arena.

What are your thoughts on phones like the Huawei Honor 4X?

If you don’t mind the big screen (or even better if you actually enjoy big screen) this is easily a total Moto G killer, just Snapdragon 410 64 bits, 720p,2GB RAM, 13 and 5 MP cameras, LTE, I assume a bigger battery too and maybe micro SD slot all for $130,just wow.

Too bad this doesn’t come with lollipop to really take advantage of that 64bit processor. Chances of an update are fairly slim I imagine. Still a great deal regardless.

Offical update maybe (maybe not), but if it turns out to be a Dev fav it could have a long life.

It’s always one factor I always account for when purchasing a device. As I root rom I don’t care about oem support, I care about dev support.

Plus at $130 you could always just buy next year’s replacment model and still be miles ahead (money wise) than buying a hero phone.

I am getting sick of paying 700for phones and this one doesnt sound all that bad. If they could just get a couple more ghzs, it would be like a note 2 for 130bucks. Incredible

Good but bad. That 2GB ram paired w/that 64bit ain’t cutting it. Extremely fast calculator though

For $130 you find 2GB RAM, 64 bits Snapdragon (not Mediatek) Quad Core Processor, 13 MP camera, BAD? ain’t cutting? (o.O) $130 !!!

Huawei had totally altered the smartphone scenario with Honor6, Holly, Xi tab and their price and specifications. Now, 4G LTE at that price is definitely significant with those specs. Huawei is the Reliance of the world. Awaiting their own Kirin 64 bit processor as early as possible.
