China is home to a huge entry-level market and manufacturers like Huawei and Xiaomi are continuing to duke it out to see who can make the best device for the least amount of money. Huawei looks like it will soon pull another punch with the $130 Huawei Honor 4X. The Honor 4X is designed to give huge bang for the buck with a 5.5-inch 720p display, quad-core 1.2GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, Android 4.4.4 KitKat and support for 4G LTE networks in addition to the usual CDMA and GSM support.
Devices like the Huawei Honor 4X are of great interest because they show just how cheap a smartphone can be without sacrificing much in the way of quality. It also serves as an example of how 64-bit processors are being used in the market. While we typically think of 64-bit processors in the high-end performance realm, it’s important to remember that they can be just as beneficial and cost-efficient for the budget arena.
