Moto X with football leather back blitzes its way onto Verizon’s shelves

When Motorola introduced us to the new Moto X earlier this year, it revealed that leather back panels would now be available when customizing a phone in Moto Maker. If those leather backs aren’t quite special enough for you, though, the Moto X is now available with a unique leather backside.

The Moto X with football leather is now being sold by Verizon Wireless. The device is the same as a plain ol’ leather Moto X, but with a back that’s got a football-like texture. Pricing for this football Moto X is $119.99 with a two-year contract, $0 down and 24 payments of $22.91 each with Verizon Edge or $549.99 without a commitment, all of which is the same as a standard wood or leather-clad Moto X.

This new custom Moto X looks like an interesting option, especially for football fans out there. Not only is it a custom leather back, but the added texture of the football leather could make it extra grippy. The bad news is that the Moto X with football leather appears to be a Verizon-exclusive, at least for now.

What do you think of this football leather Moto X?

I’m all for the football leather skin. Seems like it should be much more durable than the cow hide.

Surly you mean American Football type leather, as footballs have been synthetic plastic leather for years, plus smooth.
