NVIDIA SHIELD tablet, SHIELD portable bundles coming on Black Friday

If you’re a mobile gamer that loves the tactile feel of real buttons on a real controller, you’re going to want to check out NVIDIA’s Black Friday deals.

NVIDIA has announced that on November 28, it’ll have special offers on both its SHIELD tablet and SHIELD portable that’ll be available from 12:01 am PST until 11:59 pm PST on Black Friday. Here’s how the two deals break down:

  • NVIDIA SHIELD tablet: 32GB LTE model with a SHIELD controller, NVIDIA GRID game streaming service and the Green Box bundle, which includes Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One and Portal, all for $399, which is normally the price of the SHIELD tablet alone.
  • NVIDIA SHIELD portable: SHIELD portable with NVIDIA GRID game streaming service, carrying case and glossy black armor for $199, which is the regular price for the SHIELD portable alone.

It’s also worth noting that the SHIELD tablet recently received its update to Android 5.0 Lollipop, which it got before most other devices. When you consider that as well as the SHIELD tablet’s near-stock build of Android, its built-in LTE connectivity and the free controller, NVIDIA’s tablet deal is definitely worth a look for any mobile gamer.

Too bad there isn’t a bundle for the wifi version. I wonder if they are just going to slash the price for the wifi tablet alone.

Boooooo,I have been checking for this everyday since like 2 weeks ago, I really wanted a deal on the WiFi one, I have no LTE on my country and I don’t want to pay $400 for a tablet. Dang… Disappointment.

Awesome! I’ve been on the fence about this for a few weeks. Glad I waited until Black Friday. definitely going to take advantage of this deal!

Most people are saying this is now the best android tablet over the nexus 9 even. I may have to pick this up.

Shield tablet is hardly a deal they gave out 32GB models to 16GB for RMA replacements while back also NVIDIA GRID is free.

The 299 model with free controller would have been better deal.

    • BlazeHN

Yeah, I was expecting $249 WiFi one or $299 with controller. Bleh, won’t me buying at all after all.

Why are these deals not available to Australians, let alone the Shield itself. Been out since July and we still can’t buy it here without going through a third party.

You don’t want the 16gb one anyway. Can’t even believe there’s a model with that low of memory in 2014. This is a high end tablet running memory hungry games. And that expansion slot will be mostly useless because most titles don’t support running from an expansion memory card.
