Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is free on Google Play

In honor of the release of the final Hobbit movie, which should close things out for Middle-earth until the gritty reboot of the series in 10-15 years, Google has Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring available for free in HD on Google Play.

Even if you already own the movie, it never hurts to have another copy of LoTR available at a moments notice.

Just beware that if you start watching you don’t fall into a marathon viewing session, as all six films will cost you a full day of your life at this point.

Which of the movies is your favorite and are you heading out to see The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies this weekend?

May want to let people know if this is a regional thing before getting them excited. Most of these offers are US only.

Sorry about that, we didn’t get the specifics on the deal, but as you say they are typically US only.

You get to live in Canada, do you really need another gift? ;)

Australia currently has a free copy of Pacific Rim in HD. Canadians and others should see if it’s free for them too…
