Lollipop rolling out to unlocked and developer edition HTC One (M8)

Part of the HTC Advantage program is that it guarantees an update to the newest version of Android within 90 days of the final source code release. That timeline pegged the One (M8) for an update that would arrive by mid-February. The good news is that the first of the updates will begin rolling out tonight. Android 5.0 Lollipop and Sense 6 will be delivered to the unlocked and developer editions of the HTC One (M8) via an OTA update beginning this evening.

Though the update isn’t scheduled until later today, several replies to the announcement have indicated that it’s already begun rolling out. If you have an unlocked or developer edition HTC One (M8), you might want to see if the update is already there waiting for you. If it isn’t, don’t worry; the update will come soon enough. For those on carriers, the wait will be a bit longer, but we expect that those updates will begin to roll out within the next couple weeks.

Let us know when you receive the update!
