While Xiaomi’s Mi Note and Mi Note Pro will likely get more attention, Xiaomi also launched the Mi Box mini this morning. The Mi Box Mini is a miniscule set-top streaming box that runs on Android. Inside it features a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB storage, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, DTS 2.0 with Dolby Digital plus support and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The Mi Box Mini features an HDMI 1.4 port and can plug directly into the wall courtesy of a built-in power supply. For navigation, it features a Bluetooth remote.

The entire Mi Box Mini can fit in the palm of your hand, and Xiaomi says that the motherboard is about one-third the size of the average credit card. For such a tiny object, the Mi Box Mini packs a surprising amount of power and functionality and should perform admirably as an Android-powered streaming box for TVs.

The Mi Box Mini is launching in China on January 20 for RMB $199 ($30USD), making it incredibly affordable.
