Samsung Galaxy S6 to include just two S apps to reduce bloat

Samsung Logo 2

We’ve all heard that Samsung is trying to tone down TouchWiz for its next flagship release. Thanks to SamMobile, we now have a list of all the stuff Samsung will be installing on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge! And thankfully, it’s far less than usual.

The only two S apps that will be included are S Health and S Voice. S Health is a great addition and I wouldn’t call it bloat, but S Voice is mostly useless with Google Now in the picture. GALAXY APPS will also be included, so you can download other Samsung apps that aren’t preinstalled.

On top of that, it looks like Samsung made a deal with Microsoft as both OneNote and OneDrive will be included. Along with Skype, Facebook, and WhatsApp, these can be considered bloat and are unnecessary to preinstall. But this list looks really lean, which is great news.

On top of a reduction in apps, it’s said that Samsung is toning down TouchWiz in general to make it faster for the release of the Galaxy S6. Not much will change in temrs of visuals from the current Lollipop TouchWiz we see now, but more stock Google animations will be added along with a better Material theme. What do you think of the direction Samsung is headed?

So there not going with nexus like ui anymore? Sounds exactly what they said was going to happen with the s5 and note 4, but then they both weren’t toned down like stated. I don’t like the unreplaceable 2600mah battery, way too small for a QHD phone and the removable battery is a good feature. Samsung better keep the sd card slot. When it comes to hard or soft keys, I like both, but many people want hard keys because the loss of screen with soft, so it will be interesting to see if they keep the hard keYs. Good move getting rid of the Samsung bloat apps, but there going backwards putting apps on the phone, that can easily be downloade, which equals more bloat. I think Samsung is going to make the wrong changes and some of the right, but in the end there will be alot to complain about

The S6 will have a MicroSD slot, they’ve not said there wouldn’t be and they’ve had them in their phones for a long while. As well, they’ll have a removable battery like they have had with lines of smart phones. I haven’t seen it stated anywhere that the battery wouldn’t be removable, so it would be up to the battery makers to make replacement batteries.

The battery speculation is disappointing but we will have to see what becomes official. Truth is that most of the details are still rumors. We’ll find out soon enough.

Personally, I’m glad they are pulling back a LOT of the TouchWiz features and bloat apps. Sadly, it isn’t going to stop the carriers from bloating out phones up. Alas, Samsung phone owners are stuck having to root their phones to remove crappy apps.

Why leaving these two? Remove them as well, and cut the crap out completely.
