Sprint is updating the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to Lollipop

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (2)

Good news for owners of a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on Sprint! The carrier is now pushing out an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Galaxy Note 4. The Galaxy Note 4 has started to see updates in different countries and on different carriers, and now it’s the time for Sprint’s variant. The update¬†includes Android 5.0 Lollipop as well as enhancements to Wi-Fi calling, likely providing better stability.

What can you expect from Lollipop? Well, you’ll see all of the usual perks from Android 5.0, but you’ll also find a refreshed version of TouchWiz that looks much cleaner and far more modern. While you’ll find improvements in battery life and other areas, the largest change will be found in the software design, with Material Design creating a beautiful, flowing experience.

The update is rolling out now, so it may take a few days to receive it. Once you get it, drop a comment down below!

Are they the first US carrier to receive it?

As far as I know, Sprint is first. T-Mo just recently released Lollipop for their Note 3, but their Note 4 is still on KitKat. Sprint has been doing a good job with their OTAs lately.

i thought the samsung galaxy note 4 was supposed to get lollipop 5.1?

    • stanglifemike

Not 5.1, 5.1 is the expected maintenance release rumored for March. The Note 4 is supposed to be skipping 5.0 and jumping straight to 5.0.1, which includes bug fixes from the initial release.

After reading this story, i checked to see if I could get the update and BAM! There it was.
I’m installing it now, so I’ll post back how much of a difference I notice right off.

I got it today! I’m pleased with it. It’s nice and fast, I’m still trying to get used to the new changes. The only thing that I don’t like so far is that the text messaging app is like yellow! It was better when it was blue. I wish I was able to change the color. One of my favorite things is that you can change the color of the app folder, that’s pretty neat. But anyway, so far so good! I’m happy!

Oops, I meant to say that the messaging app is orange! Blagh! Lol

I got the lollipop version 5.0.1 and it is running nice but now having problems with the home button. My launcher will not save and i have to select launcher everytime i hit the home button. I have a sprint note 4. We need the 5.1. I am getting tired of this and i dont want to erase everything on my phone and root it to fix it cause sprint cant get on the ball and get it fixed or push out the new update! Sucks and very annoying
