Sony is sending Lollipop to four of its phones

Sony has announced that, beginning today, Android 5.0 Lollipop is now being pushed out to the Xperia Z3 Dual, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z Ultra. Again, all four of those phones will begin to receive Lollipop today, though timing may vary depending on your region as well as your carrier. Next week, the Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3, as well as their dual-SIM variants, will begin to receive Lollipop.

Additionally, Sony has stated that the original Xperia Z series is next on the list to receive Lollipop. This group includes the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z. A specific date hasn’t been set, but Sony expects those updates to be rolled out within a few weeks’ time. All in all, today brings in a pretty major round of updates to several different phones. In terms of updating devices, Sony has been doing extremely well, taking care of almost its entire device range. The speed leaves a little something to be desired, but getting Lollipop later is a lot better than not getting it at all.
