Huawei is holding a launch event on April 6, and more information about the devices that will be announced is leaking out. This time it’s for a lower-end version of the Huawei P9, which might be called the P9 Lite after last year’s P8 Lite.
This device seems to be following the new trend of budget versions of flagships being comparable in specs, retaining the 5.2-inch display size and 1080p resolution of the Huawei P9. The 3GB of RAM and fingerprint scanner found on the P9 will also be retained on the P9 Lite, though the processor will be downgraded. The dual cameras are also gone, along with the full metal construction.
If this device really is comparable to the flagship, a lot of people will be happy. It’s a great trend that we hope every company adopts. We look forward to seeing what Huawei has in store on April 6.
