Android Wear is finding its way to even more watch companies, including Fossil, and today Nixon entered the fray by officially announcing The Mission smartwatch.

The Mission is an Android Wear-based rugged smartwatch that features a “super durable” 48mm polycarbonate case and a roll cage bezel that’s made from 316L stainless steel. The AMOLED display is round, and boasts Gorilla Glass for extra protection.

Nixon says The Mission smartwatch is water resistant up to 100 meters, or 330 feet. The strap is a dual-layer silicone band, and it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor. Unfortunately, any other specific details regarding the watch’s internals weren’t unveiled with the announcement.

There are some built-in apps with the Mission, including one that will keep the wearer up-to-date on snow conditions around the world, as well as surf conditions across the globe. There’s also an app called Trace that will track the wearer’s activity stats over the course of a day.

The Mission will launch later this year. As for a price, it’s unknown at this time.
