HP TouchPad gets unofficial alpha Nougat ROM

There are some devices that are unstoppable despite their age. We don’t know why, but some devices are so revered by the ROM community that they get incredible amounts of attention and devotion. We had the HTC HD2, and now we have the HP TouchPad.

The TouchPad launched back in 2011 with WebOS, a now long gone operating system that many of us loved and wished had succeeded. If you’ve never used it, we suggest you find a way to give it a go. But with the app store shut down, it’s kind of useless, so modders got to putting Android on the tablet.

Today we’re seeing the first Android 7.0 Nougat┬áROM for the device. It’s in alpha and a lot of stuff isn’t working, but the fact that it’s even available is amazing. Hopefully a lot of the bugs are worked out, as previous builds of Android for the tablet were quite stable and functional. But if you want to give it a try, hit the source link!
