Rumors of Samsung deactivating recalled Galaxy Note 7s are false

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 explosion 1

There have been rumors floating around that Samsung was planning to deactivate the Galaxy Note 7 devices that hadn’t been recalled by September 30. This would prevent further explosions, like the one that injured a 6-year-old boy.

There was some outrage about this rumor, but Samsung says that this isn’t something the company has announced. So rest assured that there’s nothing official about these rumors and that your Note 7 won’t suddenly stop working. However, you should really stop using it immediately, as the explosions are violent and dangerous. It’s not worth getting hurt over.
