The rumor mill has a tendency to go back and forth more often than not, and it looks like Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone isn’t immune from that.
Back in December of last year, a rumor suggested that Samsung would follow in the footsteps of Apple and Moto by dropping the 3.5mm headphone jack from the Galaxy S8. The report said that the Galaxy S8 would full-steam ahead with USB Type-C, so future owners would have to find wired headphones with that connector or go wireless.
However, Android Police is saying that the Galaxy S8 will indeed feature the 3.5mm headphone jack after all. The publication recently spoke with a source that it says is reliable, and they said that the upcoming flagship will feature a 3.5mm jack.
Nothing is confirmed at this point, so Samsung could go either way here. But it’s probably likely that Samsung has been listening to the feedback after the launches of the 3.5mm-less iPhone 7, Moto Z, and now HTC U Ultra and started weighing their next move.
Are you hoping Samsung keeps the headphone jack around?
