The first batch of Android Wear devices have been all but abandoned. None of the launch devices are getting the update to Android Wear 2.0 for various reasons, many of which are perfectly valid.
Sony has confirmed that the SmartWatch 3 will not be getting the update, either. It’s going to be stuck on Android Wear 1.5, much like the beloved LG G Watch and Moto 360, among others.
Maybe it’s time for many of the early adopters to upgrade to a new watch. After all, it’s been over two years. Yes, it’s sad that you now have to upgrade your watch every few years, but it seems that’s the way technology is moving these days. The newest batch of Android Wear 2.0 watches is in the process of being launched with LG’s offerings already on the market, so it’s a great time to finally upgrade.
