The Resident Evil game saga has made a huge impact on our generation. Among other classics, these zombie-killing games have been one of the most acclaimed, and one of the most popular ones is out today for Android – Resident Evil 4.

Don’t go rushing to the Android Market just yet, though. This treat is not for everyone, as LG has exclusivity for a while. The sad part is that this is not only exclusive to LG users, but there are a couple more requirements one needs to fulfill to enjoy this game.

This Capcom hit will temporarily only be available for Korean users that own an LG 4G LTE U+ device. We are sure that 4G LTE is not a system requirement, though. Any device with the appropriate hardware should be able to run this game.

Resident Evil 4 runs for ₩5,500 (about $5), and is available today if you happen to fulfill all the requirements. We certainly hope that this game makes it to other devices, as well as other countries, as soon as possible. But for now, let’s just be jealous for a while and stick to our current games.

Will any of you be willing to spend $5 on this game? What other games are you still waiting for? I know I am still dreaming about playing Final Fantasy 7 on my Android devices.

LG is teaming up with Capcom and throwing a large scale multi-national championship encompassing Korea, Japan, and North America to promote Street Fighter IV HD.

Each participating country will be holding a qualifying tournament, and the finalists from each event will be flown to Seoul where they will battle it out on TV over 5 episodes on Korean cable game channel OnGameNet. For the US tournament, there is more than $21,000 up for grabs as prize money. The official event site just launched and we expect more details to come soon.

Street Fighter IV HD will be exclusively available on AT&T LG Nitro HD smartphone in the US and the LG Optimus LTE in Korea and Japan. Capcom has optimized the game for dual-core processors and it will be available with full HD graphics at 720p resolution.

The US qualifying tournament is scheduled for January 14th, but you can go and and sign-up now by visiting the contest site.

We don’t have any previews of the Android version quite yet, but I dub up an old Street Figher IV trailer as a bonus. Hopefully we will see more Capcom games coming to the Android Market early next year.

What good are glasses-free 3D displays without some games to show them off? Japanese publisher Capcom just announced they are turning several of their popular franchises into 3D Android games, which include Mega Man, Ghosts ‘n Goblins: Gold Knights, and Resident Evil: Degeneration.

The three Capcom games will be pre-installed on Sharp’s new 3D phones, but hopefully they will make their way to some other handsets as well.

In addition to Capcom, we learned Konami will be releasing Mobile Powerful Pro Baseball 3D, Namco Bandai is readying Taiko Drum Master, and GungHo and Gamearts are working on a new Silpheed game called Silpheed Alternative.

As more old-school publishers come to Android, it gets me more and more excited for Tegra 2 devices and the PlayStation phone.

Which classic franchises would you like to see on your phone? I’ll take Street Fighter from Capcom, Time Crisis and Tekken from Namco, and give me some Contra and Metal Gear from Konami.
