After a huge backlash in 2011, HTC changed their strategy and said they would start allowing customers to unlock the bootloaders on their devices. Over the past six months HTC has unlocked over 45 devices, but it looks like the AT&T One X might not be participating in that program quite yet.
As promised, Asus has delivered a bootloader unlock tool for their popular Transformer Prime tablet. On a Facebook announcing the tool Asus said, “we pride ourselves on delivering the best experience for our fans and users throughout our products’ life cycles.”

Keeping true on the promise to return to their hacker-friendly roots, HTC has indicated they are working to prepare a software update for the T-Mobile HTC Sensation that will serve to unlock the phone’s bootloader. (Though we still aren’t completely sure what they mean by “unlocked”).
