Engadget and a few other sites are now reporting that AT&T will be allowing 4g devices on a GoPhone no-contract plan to connect to it’s HSPA+ and LTE networks. This is a big change from the past, when AT&T’s policies prohibited any access to high speed 4g data with it’s prepaid plans. To take advantage of this, you will need to bring your own unlocked device, or purchase an AT&T device at full retail price.
AT&T recently improved their GoPhone offerings, but the best deal is still not that great at $65 per month for only a 1 gigabyte data plan plus unlimited talk and text. Perhaps the best part of this change is that it is good news for those hoping that AT&T’s yet-to-be-launched AIO Prepaid plans would have access to their 4g network.
