Google Event – Oct 24th

There is meant to be a Google event today (as reported here, and on many other sites

http://androidandme.com/2013/10/news/google-sending-out-invites-for-october-24-event/).

But I am not seeing any sites with expected Live Blog Coverage, or and details/links on live streams from Google.

Also seems like the event is a bit late to start (unless it is going and just no one is talking about it on the Internet?).

Anyone have any thoughts on this, any legit live stream links? Updates on details of the event or timing?
Seems like people are losing android sync with google servers, so something might be going on.

It is a little disappointing that is sounds like it won’t be a hardware announcement (we can still hope though, right?), but still interested in what it might be.

I am wondering the same thing. I guess this isn’t an event that is geared too much toward consumers? I am also experiencing the de-sync, but in my Chrome browser.

I was wondering the same thing and even today still nothing!

I guess new rumours (http://androidandme.com/2013/10/news/rumor-nexus-5-to-be-released-on-october-31-in-us-november-8-in-canada/) and the potential of no significant event for the Nexus 5 launch may have made this topic irrelevant – but it still seems a very strange situation. Was there ever an event? Why have no sites made mention of it at all and whether it happened/was cancelled?

    weird.

Some search on google shows that this was just a get together:
“It all started with a few invites to a Google-organized event scheduled for October 24th. Unsurprisingly, everyone jumped the gun, screaming Nexus 5, though it wasn’t long after that we had a pretty reliable confirmation that no hardware whatsoever will be presented and the event is just a get-together for Google Play employees and friends. As it turns out, this is exactly what happened, though we were still a tad suspicious, seeing as the Play team looked to be teasing the event, not to mention that we’ve learned to keep eyes on target from a previous Motorola event that you may recall.”
