HTC’s Bold, Smart Move: BlinkFeed

Many people rag on HTC Sense, but I actually mostly like it. Especially the fact that HTC has always had the goal of adding value to Android without getting in the way too much and I think they have finally done that well with Sense 5.

I have the HTC One and really like all of the subtle features that you don’t notice the value of until you’ve used them. BlinkFeed is one of those features. It has been labeled a clone of Flipboard, but it is more than that. It is a combination of social, news, and and data on your phone. You can choose specific content you want to see and also categories of content. It is a little bit like StumbleUpon and an aggregate news and social media tool and it makes content look great. At first, I thought I wouldn’t use it much but then I found myself using it more and more. At this point, there aren’t a ton of content providers but as that grows it will become one powerful tool for keeping up to date on what is happening.

What do you think? Have you used the One or BlinkFeed? What is your opinion about Sense?
