I have to admit in some cases it works. When a game is free I will download and play it. Gamevil and Com2Us are two examples where I think the model actually works. The rpg games both release can be played without any purchases what so ever. And it is cheap to remove adds or buy in game credits. Five dollars, what the game probably would cost anyway, is enough to get you plenty of loot. Shoot even $5 is pretty low for mobile games now. Before iphone mobile apps were not much cheaper than desktop ones.
Now others are just too greedy. Their in game credits are too expensive. Maybe I’m a cheap you-know-what, but I’m not going to pay $1 for one health potion. I may play the game, but usually games that ask too much for in game credit, tend to almost require purchasing gems, bobbles or whatever to get anywhere.
I suppose there is a fine line for me on if a game is worth so much money. It’s be nice if gaming companies offered the freemium model and a normal purchase model. Just want this one cool piece of loot, fine buy 75 whojits for 50 cents. Want to pay $5 and be able to get that same loot after some grinding…sweet go for it.
What does anyone else think about all these games with in game money that almost is worth more than really real money?
