Online SMS

So this guy is working on a sweet, open source solution to Online SMS. It’s not there yet, but he’s really headed in a good direction. He could use more users, and any more love you could throw his way.

Do you mean testers or people to help compile code?

    • Daniel Hakimi

I think testers, mostly. Contact him if you want to do anything more complicated, and I’m sure he’ll appreciate it.

How does this compare to DeskSMS?

    • Daniel Hakimi

It’s open source and Free, for one. It just got started, but the guy has plans to do it up right — including live mirroring, so that my phone and laptop show the same thing at all times so long as they are both connected.

I use the MightyText Google Chrome extension with the MightyText app on my phone to send and receive SMS from my PC. It also syncs back with my phone. Does online SMS do that?

      ^^ +1 MightyText – I use it too.

    • Daniel Hakimi

Yes, but it’s still in an early stage. With some love and time, Online SMS will sync live, and do a handful of other things right. It’s also Free and Open Source, and that’s a pretty sweet deal, as it is with Android: it is a strategy friendly to growth and freedom.

    • Daniel Hakimi

I just realized that MightyText doesn’t show your past texts online. That’s pretty lame, and I’m pretty sure OnlineSMS plans to include that.

Would love a good sms app that will be able to switch between mobil and wifi seemlessly
